SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Ordinance 441-22 authorized a one (1) year lease and a one-year renewal on a 1,475 sq. ft. space used for the customer service walk in area located on the ground floor of The Ohio Building for customers to be able to come in person to pay their bills and ask questions about their account. This ordinance authorizes a four (4) month lease extension beginning September 1st 2024 and ending December 31, 2024.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a four (4) month extension of the existing lease agreement with the Ohio Building Company, Ltd., for 1,475 square feet of customer service space in the Ohio Building located at 420 Madison Ave. for the Division of Utilities Administration beginning September 1, 2024 and expiring on December 31, 2024, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $10,725 pursuant to the lease agreement authorized in Section 1 is authorized from the Utility Administrative Services Fund Account Code 6078-31000-4000524STDSTD.
SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the Account Code in Section 2 in an amount not to exceed those authorized above in payment of the above-authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that the lease of said property will continue to provide space for customer service access for walk-in services for utility customers.
