Title

Authorizing the disappropriation of $290,000 from the Capital Improvements Fund; authorizing the appropriation of $290,000 from the Capital Improvements Fund; authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $290,000 from the Capital Improvements Fund for the purchase of fire engines and related equipment; authorizing the Mayor to accept bids and award contracts necessary to complete said purchases; and declaring an emergency.

Body

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

Ord. 585-23, in conjunction with ordinances 176-23 and 177-23, authorized the purchase of fire vehicles and equipment in an amount that totaled just over $3.1m, which affords (3) fire engines but is approximately $265k short of a (4th) and much-needed engine purchase. Accordingly, this ordinance bridges said shortage by availing $290k in funding to facilitate the fourth fire engine purchase and related expenditures.
