SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Division of Urban Beautification Forestry, Streetscape and Land Maintenance Operations will be utilizing the contract with Samsara, Inc., which has been selected by the City of Toledo as the fleet management provider of software and monitoring systems as authorized by Ordinance 107-22. This legislation authorizes the expenditure of funds for the first year’s costs for software & services for the division of Urban Beautification Forestry, Streetscape and Land Maintenance Operations up to the budgeted amounts for the duration of the agreement with Samsara, Inc., which is for the next five years with the option to renew for another five-year period. 

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That pursuant to the existing master services agreement with Samsara Inc. and subject to annual appropriations in future years, the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $15,000, annually, from Special Assessment Fund Account Code 3050-27100-2423001STDSTD is authorized for the installation of fleet vehicle telematics and monitoring services.

 

SECTION 2. That pursuant to an existing master services agreement with Samsara Inc. and subject to annual appropriations in future years, the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $5,000, annually, from Special Assessment Fund account 3050-27100-2421003STDSTD is authorized for the installation of fleet vehicle telematics and monitoring services.

                                                                                                         

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above Account Code in an amount not to exceed $20,000 annually in payment of all obligations authorized by this ordinance upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4.   That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow the effective monitoring of the city’s fleet.
