SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes Toledo Municipal Court to enter into an agreement with Motorola Solutions, Inc. for the purchase of portable radios, softwarwe and various communication equipment and related services. Motorola Solutions, Inc. is the current supplier for radio communication equipment for the City of Toledo. Said purchase contract will allow Toledo Muncipal Court to hire additional security staff to reduce the amount of contract labor which will save general fund dollars.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Toledo Municpal Court are authorized to accept bids and award contracts, or utilize cooperative purchase agreements for the purchase of portable radios, softwarwe and various communication equipment and related services upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Law.
SECTION 2. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $37,185.44 is authorized from the Toledo Municipal Court Fund Account Code 1001-10800-3000257STDSTD for the purposes identified in Section 1.
SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw a warrant or warrants against the above-referenced Account Codes in payment of the above-authorized obligation and upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers in an amount not to exceed $37,185.44.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason of timely and essential equipment for court security.
