SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
A District Improvement Program application has been submitted to provide funding to the Toledo Warehouse District Association for the purchase and installation of site furnishings throughout the Warehouse District Neighborhood.
The District Improvement Review Committee convened on April 20, 2026, and recommended approval of this application in an amount of $25,000.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 483-19, passed on October 1, 2019, regarding a previous DIP funded project for the Warehouse District, incorporated herein by reference is repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the necessary contracts with the Toledo Warehouse District Association for improvements necessary to support the purchase and installation of street furnishings in the Warehouse District neighborhood, upon such terms and conditions shall be approved by the Director of Economic Development and the Director of Law.
SECTION 3. That an amount not to exceed $25,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-16400-8CP1817DNGPRO from the District Improvement Program for reimbursement of eligible expenses associated with the street furnishings in support of the public improvement project.
SECTION 4. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed that authorized in Section 2 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 5. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective to timely procure and complete this public improvement project.
