Recognizing Mark Marzec for 45 Years of Dedicated Service to the City of Toledo.
Summary
WHEREAS, Mark Marzec has faithfully served the residents of Toledo for forty-five years, and will retire on September 30th, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Mark began his career at the City of Toledo in August 1978 as an Engineering Aide, later moving up to Construction Technician; and
WHEREAS, in 1989 Mark was promoted to General Foreman for Road and Bridge Maintenance, demonstrating his hard work and leadership; and
WHEREAS, Mark married the love of his life, Theresa, in 1991, and the two have now been married for 34 years; and
WHEREAS, for the past 26 years, Mark has served the City of Toledo as its Superintendent of Streets, overseeing numerous large street repair projects, the safe clearing of city streets from snow and ice and the day-to-day activities of street crews; and
WHEREAS, Mark is also a dedicated fan of his favorite sports teams - the Toledo Mudhens, Detroit Tigers, and Detroit Red Wings; and
WHEREAS, Mark says in retirement, he’ll have more time to invest in his hobbies like fishing, golfing, woodworking, and growing a vegetable garden.
NOW THEREFORE, Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1: That we recognize Mark Marzec for his exceptional career in public service, and inspiring dedication to his teams and to the entirety of the City of Toledo.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
