SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This Ordinance authorizes the total expenditure of $62,000 for radios from the Capital Improvement Fund for Toledo Police. This expenditure is needed to outfit new vehicles with radios that will be purchased directly from the manufacturer Motorola Solutions using state term pricing.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a contract with Motorola Solutions utilizing purchasing cooperatives or state-term pricing for the purchase of radios upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Police and the Director of Law.

 

SECTION 2.  That the amount not to exceed $62,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-52000-8CP2621POLEQP for the purchase of radios.

 

SECTION 3.  That the Finance Director is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the above referenced Account Code in payment of the obligations authorized in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $62,000 and upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that the radios are needed to timely outfit the new vehicles to avoid the disruption to public safety services.
