SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Division of Code Enforcement has engaged with vendor i2c Technologies for the purchase and installation of a camera security system, Axis P3228-LVE, along Brown Ave. between Woodland Ave. and Indiana Ave.  This ordinance will authorize the purchase of seven (7) LVE 4k high-resolution cameras, all equipped with blue LED lights, in addition to the appropriate mounts, software management system, cabling, and power source to operate the system.

 

The fiscal impact of this ordinance is as follows:

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                                                                                                         SECTION 1.                      That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $17,561.44 is authorized from the Nuisance Abatement Trust Fund, Account Code 2090-16100-5T31306STDSTD, for the purchase and installation of an Axis security camera system.

 

                                                                                                         SECTION 2.                      That the mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with i2c Technologies for the purpose identified in Section 1 and upon such other terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Neighborhoods and the Director of Law.

 

SECTION 3.                      That this Council finds it in the best interest of the city to waive the competitive procurement requirements of TMC Section 187 for the reason that the camera system used by the Toledo Police Department is operated through i2c Technologies and this agreement would allow for uniformity with the cameras and the system.

 

SECTION 4.                      That the Finance Director is authorized to draw her warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of all obligations authorized above in an amount not to exceed $17,561.44 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 5.                      That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow the timely installation of the system.
