SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The four variable frequency drives (VFDs) power the four main pumps at the Low Service Pumping Station, which supply raw water to the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant. This operation is critical to the overall treatment process. The Low Service Pumping Station initiates the process by pumping raw water to the Collins Park facility. Without this step, the water treatment process would come to a halt.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the appropriation of $290,000 is authorized from the Water Replacement Fund Account 6063-32000-4UC1125STDSTD and the expenditure of the same is authorized for the Low Service Pump Station Voltage Drives Preventative Maintenance Project agreement.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for the purposed identified in Section 1 upon such terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.
SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to issue their warrant or warrants against the Account Code listed in Section 2 in an amount not to exceed $290,000 in payment of the above-authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers thereof.
SECTION 4. That the disappropriation of any remaining budget to fund balance at project closeout is authorized.
SECTION 5. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be effective immediately in order to maintain the supply of potable water to the region in an efficient manner.
