SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

A capital improvement project to implement parking lot lighting was planned and executed at Schneider Park this summer.  The projects have been completed on time and under the authorized budget allocation. This ordinance authorizes the re-appropriation and expenditure of $48,609.65 of previously appropriated funds for Schneider Parking Lot Lighting. The amended ordinance authorizes the expenditure of same for the construction of an accessible playground at Schneider Park.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

                     SECTION 1. That the disappropriation of $48,609.65 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund from Account Code 5040-40100-8CP2429PRKLOT.

SECTION 2. That the re-appropriation of $48,609.65 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund to Account Code 5040-10100-8CP2222DNGPRO and the expenditure of same is authorized for construction of an accessible playground at Schneider Park.

SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into necessary contract agreements for the purposes authorized in Section 1, upon such terms and conditions as acceptable to the Director of Parks and Youth Services and the Director of Law.

SECTION 4. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above Account Codes in payment of the above-authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed $48,609.65 authorized upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 5. That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this ordinance must be immediately effective in order to ensure the timely development accessible facilities at Schneider Park.
