SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Old Orchard Neighborhoods Association submitted a District Improvement Program application to provide funding to install decorative columns and landscaping at Goddard Field. The District Improvement Review Committee convened on September 5, 2023, and recommended approval of this application in an amount of $134,624.99.
Goddard Field serves as an important entry point to the Old Orchard neighborhood. This installation serves to enhance the identity of this proud Toledo community. The DIP allocation will fund the entire cost of the project.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That a sum of $134,624.99 is authorized for expenditure from Account Code 5040-16400-8CP2132DNGPRO from the District Improvement Program for installation of decorative columns and landscaping at Goddard Field.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute the necessary contract from the District Improvement Program for installation of decorative columns and landscaping, upon such terms and conditions as shall be approved by the Director of the Department of Economic Development, the Director of Parks & Youth Services, and the Director of Law.
SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed that authorized in Section 1 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective to implement the identified improvements in a timely manner.
