SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

City Council desires to change the Rules of Council as revised to October 23, 2024, by changing the standing committees of Council.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That Rule V. B. of the Rules of Council that reads:

 

                     B. The standing committees of Council shall be:

1.                     Parks, Education, Recreation and Health Committee

2.                     Finance Debt and Budget Oversight Committee

3.                     Intergovernmental & Administrative Services

4.                     Housing and Community Development Committee

5.                     Public Safety & Criminal Justice Reform Committee

6.                     Regional Growth, Development & Small Business Enterprise Committee

7.                     Mobility, Sustainability & Beautification Committee

8.                     Water Quality Committee

9.                     Zoning and Planning Committee

                     Is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

                     B. The standing committees of Council shall be:

1.                     Community & Administrative Services Committee

2.                     Economic Development & Innovation Committee

3.                     Finance Debt & Budget Oversight Committee

4.                     Housing, Community Development, Public Health Policy Committee

5.                     Public Safety & Criminal Justice Reform Committee

6.                     Sustainability and Beautification Committee

7.                     Transportation Committee

8.                     Water Quality Committee

9.                     Zoning and Planning Committee

                                          

SECTION 2.  That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that the Rules of Council need to be revised to meet the needs of this City Council.

 

Vote on emergency clause:  yeas 10, nays 0.

 

Passed:  January 20, 2026, as an emergency measure:  yeas 10, nays 0.
