SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This ordinance authorizes the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Paramount for the purchase of medical screening services for the TPD Wellness Program 2025. This program will include medical evaluations of lipids, glucose, blood pressure, body mass, vascular scanning, fitness testing and instruction. A private one on one consultation in relation to the testing results will focus on areas of concern. Additionally, there will be presentations specific to police officers with regard to overall health and stress relief. There will be 40 training sessions at 8 hours per session scheduled thru December 31, 2025. A bid was posted on Planet Bids and Paramount was the lowest and best bidder.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and enter into an agreement for the purchase of medical screening services for the TPD Wellness Program 2025, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Police and the Director of Law.

 

SECTION 2. That the expenditure of $59,850 is authorized for expenditure from the Healthcare Internal Service Fund Account Code 7083-17100-1156001STDSTD for the medical screening services.

 

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrants against the above-mentioned Account Code in payment of the above-authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed $59,850 and upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective to promote TPD officer wellness.
