Recognizing retired Detective Louie Espinosa on his induction into the National Law Enforcement Hall of Fame.
Summary
WHEREAS, retired Toledo Police Detective Louie Espinosa was inducted into the National Law Enforcement Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2022; and
WHEREAS, retired Detective Espinosa served the Toledo Community as a detective for the Toledo Police Department diligently for over thirty years; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Toledo Police Department, Detective Espinosa is credited along with the Joint Terrorism Task Force in stopping multiple threats of domestic terrorism in the Northwest Ohio area; and
WHEREAS, the National Law Enforcement Hall of Fame was created in 2017, by Adam Davenport and Megan Stockburger to recognize officers who have gone beyond the call of duty to provide exceptional service throughout their careers; and
WHEREAS, the Founders Award, which was presented to retired Detective Espinosa at the 2022 Induction ceremony on Thursday, March 24, 2022, was created to recognize an Ohio Officer due to the organizations roots in Northwest Ohio; and
WHEREAS, as retired Detective Espinosa is quoted as saying “Looking back, it’s kind of nice to be recognized, but when you’re in this job, I don’t think it’s one of your driving goals, this department is filled with heroes, and I was just lucky enough to be recognized”; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That we congratulate all the inductees of the National Law Enforcement Hall of Fame, especially retired Detective Louie Espinosa and wish him a long happy retirement from the Toledo Police Department.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
