SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This Ordinance authorizes expending an amount not to exceed $39,000 for an emergency repair of the underground steam lines that provide heat the City of Toledo’s Safety building. 

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1. That the appropriation of $39,000 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Improvement Fund to Account Code 5040-26100-8CP2525STMLIN and the expenditure of same is authorized for emergency improvements to the underground steam lines the provide heat to the Safety Building.

 

                     SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into necessary contracts for the purpose authorized in Section 1, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Service and the Director of Law.

 

                     SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the Account Code in Section 1 in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers in an amount not to exceed $39,000.

 

                     SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to continue to provide heat to the Safety Building.
