Can you provide the capital projects list to be accomplished with this year’s appropriations as well as a list of outstanding capital needs in Parks?

Referral Response:
1. Benches: Purchasing small supply of 8’ benches to fulfill current need and to have on hand for future memorial orders. Confirmed installations for 2026: Close Park, Washington Village, Foxglove Park, Smith Park, Glenwood Park. These will complete the replacement of all wooden benches. Evaluating for additional installations throughout the park system.
2. Tables: We will order a small supply to have on hand for new installations. Confirmed installations for 2026: Kid’s Spot- George Bush, Smith Park. This will complete the replacement of all wooden picnic tables.
3. Grills: Confirmed installations for 2026: Smith Park. Currently assessing demand for additional installations.
4. Drinking Fountains: Confirmed installations for 2026: Ottawa Park, Beverly Park, Burnett Park, Grove Patterson Park, Casey Jones Park, Oakdale Park, Savage Park, Sleep Hollow Park. Evaluating for additional installations. Anything new will require uncapping of water lines, or installation of new water lines.
5. Shade Structures: Reinstalling at all existing locations where shades were removed for the winter. Ordering additional shades for Willy’s Park pool. Evaluating additional installations at Wilson Park Pool, as well as at current tennis and pickleball courts.
6. Bleachers: Purchasing replacement aluminum benches for Scott Park. Evaluating additional locations.
7. Tempered Glass Backboards: Currently evaluating usage to determine the most appropriate parks to upgrade from metal backboards to tempered glass. Anticipating replacing in at least 4 additional parks.

The attached spreadsheet is an overview of what we have accomplished over the past 5 years, what is in progress, and what still needs to be addressed. It also has a column for 1st quarter visitation at all of the parks that I can collect data from.
There is a key at the bottom of the sheet that explains the meaning of the various colors. Let me know if you have any questions.
