SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

Ord. 485-22 authorized the Lifepak 15 Cardiac monitor, related equipment, and services purchase contract from the Capital Improvement Fund. Whereby pursuant to TMC 1905.14, this Ord. now separates the same by purchase type and appropriate funding sources as follows, $583,731.23 and $516,268.77 from the Capital Improvement Fund and General Fund, respectively, thereby distinguishing tangible purchases from services.

 

This Ordinance accordingly repeals and enacts a new Preamble and Section 2 of Ord. 485-22.

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That the Preamble of Ordinance 485-22 that reads as follow:

 

“Authorizing the Mayor to enter into agreements and award contracts for the purchase of Lifepak 15 Cardiac Monitors, related equipment, and services, in an amount not to exceed $1,100,000.00; authorizing the expenditure of $1,100,000.00 from the Capital Improvement Fund for said purchase contract; waiving the competitive bidding requirements of TMC Chapter 187; authorizing the Mayor award contracts for said purchases; and declaring an emergency”

SECTION 2. That a new Preamble of Ordinance 485-22 that reads as follows:

 

“Authorizing the Mayor to enter into agreements and award contracts for the purchase of Lifepak 15 Cardiac Monitors, related equipment, and services, in an amount not to exceed $1,100,000.00; authorizing the expenditure of $583,731.23 from the Capital Improvement Fund and $516,268.77 from the General Fund for the same; waiving the competitive bidding requirements of TMC Chapter 187; authorizing the Mayor award contracts for said purchases; and declaring an emergency.”

 

Is enacted

 

SECTION 3. That Section 2 of Ordinance 485-22 that reads as follows:

 

That the expenditure in an amount not to exceed $1,100,000.00 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-53000-8CP2234FIRLPK for the purchase of Lifepak 15 Cardiac Monitors, related equipment, and services.

 

Is repealed.

 

SECTION 4. That a new Section 2 of Ordinance 485-22 that reads as follows:

 

That the expenditure in an amount not to exceed $583,731.23 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-53000-8CP2234FIRLPK and subject to future appropriations, $516,268.77 is authorized from the General Fund Account Code 1001-53000-3341002EMSBUR for the purchase of Lifepak 15 Cardiac Monitors, related equipment, and services.

 

Is enacted.

 

SECTION 5. This Ordinance is declared an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary to facilitate Toledo Fire’s Emergency Medical Services to the community by replacing end-of-life Lifepak 15 models with current models as per industry standards and manufacturer’s recommendations.
