SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Walmart Community Grant program has awarded the Toledo Police Department a $2,000 grant. The grant funds will be used for the purchase of supplies and equipment for the Safety City program. There is no cash match and no in-kind match requirement.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a grant agreement and to accept and deposit grant proceeds from Walmart in the amount of $2,000 into the Operation Grants Fund Account Code 2016-52000- 3G00172STDSTD.
SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $2,000 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Operation Grants Fund to Account Code 2016-52000-3G00172STDSTD; and further authorizing the expenditure of same for the purchase of police equipment and supplies.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate use of the grant in preparation for the 2020 Safety City program.
