SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The structure at 433 Baden Street was a fire emergency demolition needing further investigation by Toledo Police and Toledo Fire and Rescue. This project was deemed an emergency and the department followed the emergency purchasing guidelines. After soliciting quotes, the city made the decision to proceed with Klumm Brothers. Klumm offered the lowest price and had immediate availability to complete the work.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1. That an amount not to exceed $24,000 is authorized from the General Fund account code 1001-27100-5634001STDSTD for the investigation and site clean-up of the property located at 433 Baden Street.

 

                     SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into contract with Klumm Brothers Company for the investigation and site restoration of the property located at 433 Baden Street upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Service and the Director of Law. 

 

                     SECTION 3.                     That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw his or her warrant or warrants against the Account Code in Section 1 in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed $24,000 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4.                     That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to comply with the Toledo Police investigation.
