SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The city of Toledo has entered into a partnership with Toledo Public Schools for summer interns. These funds were not appropriated in the original 2018 Operating Budget. This ordinance would provide additional funding for this purpose and other seasonal personnel.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the sum of $35,100 is appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the Water Replacement Fund into the following account codes:
SECTION 2. That an operating transfer in the amount of $30,000 is authorized from the Water Replacement Fund into the Water Operating Fund and an operating transfer in the amount of $5,100 is authorized from the Water Replacement Fund into the Utilities Administration Fund under the following account codes:
SECTION 3. That an appropriation in the amount of $30,000 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Water Operating Fund and an appropriation in the amount of $5,100 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Utilities Administration Fund to the account codes listed below; and further authorizing the expenditure of same for the internship program with Toledo Public Schools and other seasonal personnel.
SECTION 4. That the sum of $35,100 is appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the Sewer Replacement Fund into the following account codes:

That an operating transfer in the amount of $30,000 is authorized from the Sewer Replacement Fund into the Sewer Operating Fund and an operating transfer in the amount of $5,100 is authorized from the Sewer Replacement Fund into the Utilities Administration Fund under the following account codes:
SECTION 6. That an appropriation in the amount of $30,000 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Sewer Operating Fund and an appropriation in the amount of $5,100 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Utilities Administration Fund to the account codes listed below; and further authorizing the expenditure of same for the internship program with Toledo Public Schools and other seasonal personnel.
SECTION 7. That the Finance Director is authorized to issue her warrant or warrants against the Account Codes identified in Section 3 and Section 6 in an amount not to exceed $70,200 in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 8. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this ordinance must be immediately effective in order to expend funds needed for internship.
