Title

Authorizing the appropriation and expenditure in an amount not to exceed $900,000 from the Sewer Replacement Fund for vehicles and equipment for the Sewers and Drainage Services Division; authorizing the Mayor to enter into contracts for the vehicles and equipment; and declaring an emergency.

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The Sewers and Drainage Division desires to replace vehicles and equipment per the Department of Public Utilities’ five-year replacement plan.

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.                     That the appropriation of $900,000 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Sewer Replacement Fund into Account Code 6073-37000-4UC0124STDSTD for the purchase of vehicles and equipment.

 

SECTION 2. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $900,000 is authorized from the Sewer Replacement Fund Account Code 6073-37000-4UC0124STDSTD for the purpose described in Section 1.

 

SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for vehicles and equipment upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Public Utilities and the Director of Law.

 

SECTION 4. That the Finance Director is authorized to issue their warrant or warrants against the Account Code identified in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $900,000 in payment of the obligations authorized herein upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 5. That the disappropriation of any remaining budget to fund balance is authorized at project closeout.

 

                     SECTION 6. That the Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to maintain vehicles and equipment per the five-year replacement plan.
