SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This Ordinance authorizes the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $375,000 from the approved 2026 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budget for the purchase of one (1) tandem axle truck for snow and ice operations.

 

A national cooperative purchasing organization (co-op) agreement will be utilized to purchase one chassis from Valley Freightliner of Toledo and one body outfit from Henderson Products to ensure lowest cost and continuity of equipment for operator familiarity and repairs. 

 

 

Summary

NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1.  That an amount not to exceed $375,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-23100-8CP2623SNOPLW for the purchase of a tandem truck chassis and plow body for snow and ice operations.

 

             SECTION 2.  That the Mayor is authorized to enter into contracts utilizing cooperative purchasing agreements for the purchase of a tandem truck chassis and plow body for snow and ice operations upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Law and the Director of Transportation.

                     

SECTION 3.  That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the above Account Code in payment of the above authorized obligations in an amount not to exceed that authorized in Section 1 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 4.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property, and for further reason that the Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to allow the timely purchase of the tandem axle truck for the Division of Road & Bridge.

 

Vote on emergency clause:  yeas 11 nays 0.
