SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Ohio Mayors Alliance, a bipartisan coalition of mayors in Ohio’s 30 largest cities, provides invaluable state advocacy support to our cities. It also facilitates best-practice sharing and policy research support, and it helps connect cities to state and federal resources. This ordinance authorizes the payment of $12,500 to the Ohio Mayors Alliance for annual membership in 2026. Funds are available in the Mayor’s Office budget for this expenditure.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That an expenditure of an amount not to exceed $12,500 is authorized from the General Fund, Account Code 1001-10200-1181001STDSTD, to provide payment for the 2026 Ohio Mayors Alliance membership.
SECTION 2. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the above-mentioned Account Code in an amount not to exceed $12,500 in payment of the above-authorized obligation upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to provide payment to the Ohio Mayors Alliance.
