SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

The City of Toledo has sought a contractor with the appropriate equipment to abate an immediate nuisance at the address of 1116 Nebraska Ave., Toledo 43607.  The structure known as the Faith Way Church of God was assessed to have 25,626 sq ft of structure space.  The structure was subject to a fire and partial collapse on Aug 3, 2019; which resulted in an emergency order issued from the Chief Building Official. 

The fiscal impact of this ordinance is as follows:

-                     The amount of funds requested: $15,000

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1.  That the mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement for environmental abatement, demolition and debris removal at 1116 Nebraska Ave., Toledo 43607.  Agreement shall be subject to the terms and conditions deemed proper and requisite according to the Director of Law and the Director of Neighborhoods and Business Development.

 

SECTION 2.  That the expenditure in an amount not to exceed $15,000 is authorized from the General Fund, Account Code 1001-56400-5634001STDSTD, for the purposes authorized in Section 1.

 

SECTION 3.                      That the Finance Director is authorized to issue his warrant or warrants in an amount not to exceed $15,000 against the above referenced account code in payment of all obligations authorized upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

 

SECTION 4.                     That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of public peace, healthy, safety, and property, and for the further reason that this ordinance must be immediately effective in order to execute the abatement demolition and debris removal at 1116 Nebraska Ave., Toledo 43607.
