SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The city has contracted with VBA since September 1, 2016. The city's vision insurance services contract with VBA expires on August 31, 2019. This amendment allows for vision examinations and new lens' every 12 months rather than every 24 months.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an Agreement with VBA Vision Partners to provide vision insurance services, commencing September 1, 2019 through August 31, 2021. Such agreement shall contain the current contract rates, terms and conditions, and allows for vision examinations and new lens' every 12 months rather than every 24 months, and that deemed proper and requisite according to the Director of Law.

SECTION 2. The city is seeking to waive competitive bidding as specified in Section 187 of the T.M.C. for the following reasons; VBA has met and/or adhered to all objectives that were agreed upon during the original contract, due to the positive business relationship established with the city, VBA has approached the city advising that they would like to extend the contract, at current rates, for a period of two (2) years.

SECTION 3. That subject to future appropriations the expenditure of funds in the annual amount of $47,678.04 is authorized from Account Code 1098-150325 for the purpose identified in Section 1, with said costs being allocated to Account Number 517400 (Medical Ins...
