Title

Authorizing the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $45,205 from the Water Operating Fund for the purchase of two Watson Marlow Bredel pumps to replace failing units at the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant; authorizing the Mayor to waive the competitive provisions of TMC Chapter 187 and enter into contract for the purchase of pumps; and declaring an emergency.

Summary
SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Chemical feed systems are an important part of the water treatment process and help support consistent plant operations and finished water quality. Powdered activated carbon is used to help remove taste and odor compounds and other contaminants from the raw water.

This ordinance authorizes the expenditure of funds for the purchase and replacement of Bredel 20 and Bredel 40 pumps used in the powdered activated carbon feed system. These pumps are used to move and feed carbon slurry into the treatment process.

SECTION 2. That the competitive provisions of TMC Chapter 187 are hereby waived for the reason that BissNuss, Inc is a sole source vendor for these pumps.

SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to award a contract to BissNuss, Inc. for the purchase of two Watson Marlow Bredel Pumps for the Collins Park Water Treatment Plant u...
