How many Toledoans are working the remediation of the Spitzer Building?

Referral Response:

The Land Bank competitively bid the interior building demolition projects at the Spitzer building and the Nicholas building downtown last summer.  The lowest, most responsive, and most responsible bidder was Erie Environmental of Port Clinton, Ohio, and that firm was awarded the work.  Because we are part of a large regional economy, the residences of workers on the projects, to the extent we can confirm this information, are from a variety of locations.  Payroll reports show that at least two of the workers are residents of Toledo. All workers on the projects are paying individual income taxes to Toledo through payroll withholding.  Interior demolition work on the Spitzer building was completed in late December 2025, and this same work on the Nicholas building is expected to be completed in early February 2026.
