SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Toledo City Council and the Department of Parks and Youth Services agree that the parking lot adjacent to Detwiler Park, located at 3900 N. Summit St., is in dire need of repair.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That an amount not to exceed $300,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040 for Detwiler Park parking lot improvements.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and enter into contracts that are deemed necessary by the Director of Parks and Youth Services to carry out the capital improvement project(s) described in Section 1.
SECTION 3. That the appropriation and budget adjustment authorized in Section 1 are authorized to amend the 2024 approved Capital Improvements budget.
SECTION 4. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw their warrant or warrants against the account code identified in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $300,000 in payment of the obligations authorized above.
SECTION 5. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force immediately from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that same is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property for users of the Detwiler Park parking lot.
