Please provide a dollar amount for a budget increase to allow for an expansion of tax collections.
Referral Response:
Taxation estimates that additional staff would allow for the expansion of tax collections. As a start, this would include three full-time tax positions. Two of these positions would focus on expanded collections in areas that there is not current capacity to routinely complete. The other position would focus on improving the efficiency of working within the tax databases. The estimated cost for this increase would be approximately $294,000. The estimated revenue generated by these new positions is approximately $750,000.
