SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The approved Capital Improvement Budget appropriated $261,276 for the 1% for the Arts program in fiscal year 2024. This ordinance authorizes the additional appropriation of $240,000 for a total of $501,276 for the 1% for the Arts program in 2024. Subsequent legislation will be presented to authorize the expenditure of funds.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the appropriation of $240,000 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Capital Improvement Fund to Account Code 5040-40100-8CP1PERFORART for the annual 1% for the Arts program.
SECTION 2. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force immediately from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that it must be immediately effective in order to appropriate additional funds for the 1% for the Arts program in conjunction with proposed changes to related Toledo Municipal Code sections.
