SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Historically, the month of June is celebrated as National Homeownership Month. In partnership with local housing counseling agencies, financial opportunities centers, city departments, nonprofit organization, banks, and realtors, The Department of Housing and Community Development will host its first annual Homeownership Fair on June 22, 2024. The theme of the Homeownership Fair is "Find Your Way Home: Unlock the Door to Homeownership".
Financial sponsorships and donations will support advertising, resource materials and all implementation costs for the first annual Homeownership Fair commencing June 22, 2024.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept donations from sponsors and donors and deposit the amount received into the Operation Grants Fund Account Code 2016- 2016-16200-5GA2024HMFAIR for the purpose of funding the annual Homeownership Fair.
SECTION 2. That appropriations in an amount not to exceed the unencumbered balance of Operations Grants Fund Account Code 2016-16200-5GA2024HMFAIR are authorized, and expenditures of the same are authorized for implementation costs for the annual Homeownership Fair.
SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into any necessary agreements for the purposes listed herein subject to the terms and conditions deemed proper and requisite according to the Director of Housing and Community Development and the Director of Law.
