SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The City of Toledo, Division of Parks and Recreation has been awarded funds granted by the Great Lakes National Program Office (GLNPO) to support the construction of a new entrance drive, parking lot, accessible loop walking trail, overlooks, and interpretive signage at Penn 7 Park. There is no grant match requirement associated with this award. Work will begin in Fall 2024 and finish in Spring 2025.

Summary
NOW THEREFORE Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a grant agreement with Great Lakes National Program Office (GLNPO) and to accept and deposit a grant in the amount of $498,000 into the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 540G-40100-8G02023STDSTD to support the construction of a new entrance drive, parking lot, accessible loop walking trail, overlooks, and interpretive signage at Penn 7 Park.

SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $498,000 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Capital Improvement Fund to Account Code 540G-40100-8G02023STDSTD and the expenditure of same is authorized for the purposes identified in Section 1.

SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for the purposes specified above, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Parks and Youth Services and Director of Law.
