SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Mayor's Office has applied for and received a grant from the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services for $1,064,143.49 to expand the Save Our Community program to Waite, Scott, and Woodward High Schools and the Maritime Academy. The grant will fund two full-time Interrupters and one Outreach Specialist assigned specifically to each school (total 8 new Interrupters, 4 new Outreach Specialists) for the 2023-24 school year. There is no match required for this grant.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a grant agreement with the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services and to accept and deposit Community Violence Intervention grant funds in the amount of $1,064,143.49 into the Operation Grants Fund Account Code 2016-10201-3G01443STDSTD.

SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $1,064,143.49 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Operation Grants Fund to Account Code 2016-10201-3G01443STDSTD; and further authorizing the expenditure of same to expand the Save Our Community program to Waite, Scott, and Woodward High Schools and the Maritime Academy.
