SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes the expenditure of approved Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) funds for various facility improvements and refinement projects at the Fire and Rescue Department's 22 buildings. Said improvements are primarily prioritized according to need as indicated in the Woolpert Facility Condition Assessment Portfolio Summary, attached herein as Addendum 1, and include, but are not limited to, station roofs, multiple concrete jobs, parking lot pavement, HVAC and vehicle building exhaust systems, windows, kitchen remodels, parking lot security fencing, overhead doors, office remodeling, station equipment, and station security improvements, etc.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That an amount not to exceed $1,500,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund, Account Code 5040-53000-8CP2304FIRBLD, for Fire Station improvements.

SECTION 2. The Mayor is authorized to prepare plans and specifications, accept bids, and enter into contracts necessary to complete said Fire Station improvements. Said contracts shall contain such terms and conditions as the Mayor may deem requisite and proper and shall be subject to approval by the Department of Law and the Director of Fire.

SECTION 3. That the Director of Finance is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the Account Code listed in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $1,500,000 in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
