SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Ohio Emergency Management Agency awarded the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department an ARPA First Responder Wellness Grant totaling $388,457.12, to develop sustainable wellness programming to support member Mental, Emotional, and Behavioral Health needs.
Accordingly, the grant funds a Wellness Coordinator Consultant position for program administration that includes but is not limited to: implementing and administering wellness day activities, overseeing a diverse and well-trained peer support team, and facilitating the therapy dog program; all of which is summarized herein as Addendum A.
These funds continue to build and sustain Toledo Fire's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and related wellness initiatives.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept and deposit a grant from the Ohio Emergency Management Agency into the Operation Grants Fund Code 2016-53000-3G04556ARPAFIR in an amount not to exceed $388,457.12 to support Fire and Rescue First Responder wellness activities and services.
SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $388,457.12 is authorized from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Operation Grants Fund to Account Code 2016-53000-3G04556ARPAFIR and the expenditure of same is authorized to support Fire and Rescue First Responder wellness services and activ...
