SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This ordinance authorizes the expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund for the fourth year of a five-year agreement for Getac body worn cameras. This expenditure covers the costs of data storage.  Getac Video Solutions Inc. is the sole source provider of storage for Getac body worn cameras.  The City of Toledo entered into a five-year agreement with Getac beginning in 2020 (289-20).

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

                     SECTION 1. That the amount not to exceed $280,000 is authorized for expenditure from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-52000-8CP2118BOD005 for the annual cost of police body worn cameras. 

 

                     SECTION 2. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above referenced Account Code in payment of the obligation authorized in Section 1 in an amount not to exceed $280,000 and upon presentation of proper voucher or vouchers.

 

                     SECTION 3.  That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely procure body worn cameras.
