Body

SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

This ordinance authorizes expenditure not to exceed $200,000 for professional services related to activities in the Division of Building Inspection.  The Division of Building Inspection, at various times, has a need for professional services; i.e. plans examiners, building officials and inspectors.  The City of Toledo has an existing contract with SAFEbuilt for professional services.

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the expenditure of an amount not to exceed $200,000 is authorized from the General Fund, Account Code 1001-56300-5652001STDSTD, for professional services provided by SAFEbuilt for activities related to the Division of Building Inspection pursuant to the existing agreement, which was signed on April 4, 2017 and continues in force until such time as either Party terminates the Agreement.

SECTION 2.  That the Director of Finance is authorized to issue their warrant or warrants against the above Account Code in an amount not to exceed $200,000 in payment of the above authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely address any vacancies in the Division of Building Inspection.
