SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Toledo Firefighters IAFF Local 92 (“Local 92”) filed two separate and distinct grievances, alleging violations of the collective bargaining agreement by the City of Toledo. Following negotiations, an agreement has been reached in the amount of $33,625.64 as to all claims alleged in those grievances, in exchange for the union withdrawing the grievances.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That payment of $33,625.64 in settlement of the claims alleged by Local 92 against the City of Toledo is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. That the Director of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to draw her warrant or warrants to Local 92 in the sum of $33,625.64 from Account No. 12000/7095/1157001STDSTD upon presentation of the proper vouchers therefore.
SECTION 3. That this ordinance being an emergency measure shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this ordinance must be immediately effective in order to implement the settlement in accordance with the agreement.
