SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This ordinance authorizes the acceptance, deposit, appropriation, and expenditure of $140,178.71 from the United States Department of Justice/ Bureau of Justice Assistance/Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program. The grant will be used for the replacement of aging shotguns. There is no local match to receive the grant.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a grant agreement and to accept and deposit grant funds from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (originating from the United States Department of Justice/ Bureau of Justice Assistance/Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program 2022-JG-LE-1000 Federal Justice Assistance Grant) in the amount of $140,178.71 into the Operation Grants Funds.

SECTION 2. That the amount not to exceed $140,178.71 is authorized for appropriation from the unappropriated grant proceeds of the Operation Grants Fund to Account Code 2016-52000-3G07716STDSTD and the expenditure of same is authorized for the purchase of shotguns.

SECTION 3. That the Mayor is authorized to accept bids and award contracts for the purposes authorized in Section 2, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Police and the Director of Law.
