SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The city has been awarded $180.9 million through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to be used to address the public health and negative economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Toledo Recovery Plan framework (authorized by Ordinance 530-21) includes $2.3 million for the Save Our Community initiative. This ordinance allows for the appropriation and expenditure of $600,000 for staff, supplies and services costs necessary for the Save Our Community initiative in 2022.
Summary
NOW THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the appropriation of $600,000 is authorized from the unappropriated balance of the Local Fiscal Recovery Fund to Account Code 2021-10201-3SAVECOMTYNEI for the Save Our Community initiative and further authorizing the expenditure of same for the purpose of recording Save Our Community wage, fringe, supply and service costs incurred in 2022 in the Local Fiscal Recovery Fund.
SECTION 2. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above Account Code in an amount not to exceed $600,000 in payment of the above-authorized obligations upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance, being an emergency measure, shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that the Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to timely record eligible Save Our Community initiative expenditures in the Local Fiscal Recovery Fund.
