SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This ordinance authorizes expending up to $250,000 to replace playground equipment at Drummond Woods Park. An evaluation of the play equipment at Drummond Woods Park resulted in a recommendation of replacement due to the age, condition, heavy use volume of the playground. New equipment has been selected that will increase the quality of play, capacity, and the safety of neighborhood children visiting this park. Funds for this project were allocated in the approved mid-year budget adjustment to the Capital Improvement fund.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. The expenditure of an amount not to exceed $250,000 is authorized from the Capital Improvement Fund Account Code 5040-40100-8CP2230PRKINF for the purchase and installation of playground equipment at Drummond Woods Park.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to utilize a purchasing consortium for equipment, to accept bids for installation and site work, and to award contracts for the purposes specified in Section 1, upon terms and conditions as acceptable to the Director of Law and the Director of Parks and Youth Services.

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above account code in payment of the above authorized obligations in amounts not to exceed $250,000 upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.
