SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:

Case Western Reserve University is pleased to announce an award to the Toledo Fire and Rescue Department for EMS equipment and supplies with a collective value not to exceed $40,000. Said award will support TFRD's "Leave it Behind" initiative, facilitating OEND distribution and EMS public care, especially at mass open-air-venue gatherings and similar. The equipment will consist of an ATV, acting as a base unit, multiple bicycles, and related safety equipment as needed to provide emergency medical care to the public. 

 

Summary

NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

 

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to accept by donation EMS equipment and supplies from Case Western Reserve University to be used for the TFRD "Leave it Behind" initiative.

                     

SECTION 2. That this Ordinance hereby is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage.  The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that same is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and property, and for the further reason that this Ordinance must be immediately effective in order to continue the timely implementation of the “Leave It Behind” initiative.
