SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
This Ordinance authorizes the total expenditure of $1,360,389.09 for Motorola Solutions, Inc. contract purchase of various Fire and Toledo Municipal Court communication equipment and related services. Motorola Solutions, Inc. is the sole source supplier for radio communication equipment for the City of Toledo. Said purchase contract replaces Fire's and Toledo Municipal Court's end-of-service life communication equipment cache as is necessary to remain on the County-wide Communications System following their 2024 dual authentication security update, which currently would effectively render 80% of Fire's and 100% of Toledo Municipal Court's communication equipment obsolete.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into an agreement with Motorola Solutions, Inc. for the purchase of Fire and Toledo Municipal Court communication equipment and related services. Said contracts shall contain such terms and conditions as the Mayor deems requisite and proper and shall be subject to approval by the Department of Law, Director of Fire and the Judges of Toledo Municipal Court.
SECTION 2. That an expenditure in an amount not to exceed $1,299,965.78 is authorized from the 2022 Capital Improvements Fund, Account Code 5040-53000-8CP2212FIRRAD, for said contract for Fire and $10,000 from Account Code 209...
