SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Ransomware and other cyber-attacks pose a significant threat to the network, server, and desktop systems that support the day-to-day operation of the City of Toledo, driving the need for an assessment that identifies vulnerabilities and remediation steps. This engagement will focus on the City of Toledo's network, server and storage infrastructure, and desktop security, leveraging resources from an industry leader in technology consulting and advisory services. The assessment will include current state documentation, gap analysis, maturity report, benchmarks, and recommendations. Additional deliverables include a multi-year roadmap and inputs to a Cybersecurity Plan as required in federal fund request submissions.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the mayor is authorized to enter into an information technology security consulting services agreement utilizing state-term contract pricing for the purpose of assessing City of Toledo infrastructure cyber security and making recommendation for improvements and on-going monitoring.

SECTION 2. That the appropriation of $350,000 is authorized in the Information and Communications Technology Fund to Account Code 7084-17500-1144004ICTADM and the expenditure of same is authorized for the purposes specified in Section 1.
