SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The purpose of this ordinance is to provide funding for the 2022 Glass City Jazz Fest, a free event to take place at the Glass City Metropark. The daylong event will occur on August 28, 2022, and will feature a number of local musicians as well as national acts. It is being organized in homage to Toledo's storied place in jazz history. This event will bring many regional visitors into the area and provide an opportunity for Toledoans to enjoy a day of music on Toledo's beautiful waterfront.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the sum of $50,000 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account Code 1001-40100-7000370STDSTD for the purpose of a sponsorship supporting the 2022 Glass City Jazz Fest, and further authorizing expenditure of the same.

SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into a sponsorship agreement for the purpose authorized in Section 1, upon terms and conditions acceptable to the Director of Law.

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above Account Code in an amount not to exceed $50,000 in payment of the above authorized obligations upon the proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 4. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Ordinance were passed in an open meeting of this Council, and that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
