SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
The Toledo-Lucas County Victim-Witness Assistance Program has requested funding to continue its services to residents of Toledo and Lucas County. The Toledo-Lucas County Victim-Witness Assistance Program assists victims of violent crime as they go through the criminal justice process, to the prosecution of their offender. This ordinance authorizes the expenditure of $40,000 for the contribution from the Police Law Enforcement Trust Fund. There are no impacts on general fund expenses or revenues.

Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:

SECTION 1. That the Mayor is authorized to provide a contribution of $40,000 to the Toledo-Lucas County Victim-Witness Assistance Program.

SECTION 2. That the sum of $40,000 is authorized for expenditure from Account Code 2090-52000-3T32302STDSLC (Law Enforcement Trust Fund) as a contribution to the Toledo-Lucas County Victim-Witness Assistance Program.

SECTION 3. That the Finance Director is authorized to draw warrant or warrants against the above-mentioned Account Code in an amount not to exceed $40,000 to pay for the contribution herein upon presentation of the proper voucher or vouchers.

SECTION 4. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure and shall be in force and effect from and after its passage. The reason for the emergency lies in the fact that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and property, and in order for the City to make a timely donation to the Toledo-Lucas County Victim-Witness Assista...
