SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
City Council is interested in conducting a feasibility study for a Toledo-Columbus Passenger Rail Corridor Route Assessment Concept Study as an extension of the 2018 joint City of Toledo/Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Government (TMACOG) Toledo-Detroit Rail Ridership Feasibility & Cost Estimate Study, per Ord. 465-18. A proposal indicates that the study's total cost is $20,000. The City of Toledo is fronting the expenditure for this study to expedite its completion before year-end. TMACOG will reimburse the City at a later date.
Summary
NOW, THEREFORE, Be it ordained by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That $20,000 is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account Code 1001-10100-1112001stdstd for a Toledo-Columbus Passenger Rail Corridor Route Assessment Concept Study, and said amount is authorized for expenditure.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor is authorized to enter into any necessary agreement with Transportation Economics & Management Systems Inc. for the purpose of undertaking a Toledo-Columbus Passenger Rail Corridor Route Assessment Concept Study subject to the terms and conditions deemed proper and requisite according to the Director of Law, not to exceed $20,000.
