Title
Recognizing the life of James E. “Jimmy” Izbinski.
Summary
WHEREAS, James E. “Jimmy” Izbinski positively influenced the lives of many in the Toledo area, whether it was as the Christmas Weed Santa, the long-time manager of Reggie’s Bike Shop, or through the local music scene; and
WHEREAS, like the spirit of the Christmas Weed, Jimmy brought something to the community; he was well known throughout the Toledo area, and as his daughter remembers he was just a genuinely nice person who cared about people; and
WHEREAS, when twelve-year-old Brennan Miller’s bike was stolen at the hands of an adult, Jimmy and the other employees of Reggie’s Bike Shop donated a brand-new, free-style BMX bike with a programmable lock with words of wisdom and a hope that it wouldn’t happen again; and
WHEREAS, Jimmy will be remembered most by his daughters Sasha (Dale) Swanson, Malori Izbinski (Justin Issacson) and Netty Izbinski; his grandchildren Vincent (Mickey) Okonski, Manny Okonski and Trey Swanson; his very significant other, Alycia Patridge; and daughters #4 Casey Patridge and Sammy Hammye; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That it hereby recognizes the life and legacy of James E. “Jimmy” Izbinski and wishes condolences to those who knew and loved him.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
