Recognizing Mr. Michael Malone on his retirement as Executive Director of Manahan, an organization dedicated to serving individuals with developmental disabilities.
Summary
WHEREAS, Mr. Michael Malone is retiring as the Executive Director of Manahan previously known as Josina Lott, after spending forty years working with people in the disability community; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Malone is a lifelong Northwest Ohio resident who graduated from St. John’s Jesuit High School, the University of Toledo, and Lourdes University as well as from the Leadership Toledo program; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Malone took the lessons he learned from his sister, who was born with Down Syndrome and turned that knowledge into a long career of helping people and offering them quality care; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Malone was a dedicated servant leader in the community serving as one of Ohio Provider Resource Association’s District 4 Representatives from 2016 to 2019; In 2016, Mr. Malone helped form MemoryLane Care Services, a private, local nonprofit serving area residents and their families affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, and remains one of its board members; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Malone plans to work on improving his golf game and finally reading a stack of books that he always meant to read; NOW, THEREFORE,
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Toledo:
SECTION 1. That we wish Mr. Michael Malone a long and happy retirement and encourage others to be leaders in the community and follow his example.
SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
