SUMMARY & BACKGROUND:
Environmental Services and Code Enforcement provide the Household Hazardous Waste Services (HHW) for the Drop-Off Refuse & Recycling Events sponsored by Engage Toledo on an annual basis for at least fifteen (15) events in the spring, summer and fall in conjunction with the City Council district cleanup events. Environmental Services contracts with an environmental contractor that provides the following services: collection, packaging, transportation, and recycling or disposal of the waste items from each event. The events are free for the citizens of the city and a proactive effort by the city to remove hazardous and non- hazardous waste items from the community all in protection of human health, welfare, and the environment.
